Payment via credit cards
According to the payment statistics, online shop credit card payment is one of  the most popular online payment method today. But, at the same time, it can be expensive for the merchant because of transaction fees. Debit card is an excellent alternative to similar security, but usually much have cheaper charges. Besides, alternative payment methods like external payment cards, bitcoin have become leaders in the payment market, overtaking payment cards.

Wallets like PayPal and Alipay are playing major roles in the ecosystem.

Bitcoin payment processors are cheaper alternative for accepting payments online which also offer better fraud protection.

Let’s take as an example a Food delivery service. It's a local-oriented service..
Different payment gateways are used in such types of mobile delivery service.

It can be a local payment system like Bank API , international payment system API (like a Mastercard, Visa, etc.), or integrated payment system like PayPal or its alternatives. In our experience, we recommend you to choose Stripe payment system.  It’s available for businesses in 25 countries. If you are not a lucky one and do not have Stripe in your country, another option is to choose Apple/Android Pay.

In order to help you make the right choice, we’ve prepared comparative table of payment systems. It should help you to see advantages and disadvantages of each payment system.

In case you want to create a unique payment - you can take Bank API or International payment system API. But you will have to pay a lot of money for development work and be responsible for all transactions, because all of them will be done through your app (or on your site).

As for PayPal - it is the most popular payment system in the world.  But, at the same time, it has a lot difficulties with integration into an app. When we faced with a choice of payment system for our project we did the following steps:

- compared payment systems;

- tried to find the best PayPal alternatives ( taking into account mobile transactions statistics on the market).

All of that information helped us to choose the best option for our client. It was Stripe.

Based on our clients requirements we wanted to provide him with a mix of optimal price and good quality. And this is exactly where Stripe was useful.

You may say that Stripe is a new payment system. But we must say that it’s very  prospective system and has a good installing documentation, which saves development time.

In contrast to Stripe, Paypal has such disadvantages like:

1. old system with disabilities;

2. much more expensive (you will have to pay for all actions).
